This map illustrates a hydrologic model using ArcGIS spatial analyst. From a depressionless digital elevation model a flow direction, a flow accumulation, and a drainage network were generated. These outputs along with pour points, which could be dams or stream gauges, were used to delineate watersheds. The largest scale subwatershed provided by the U.S. Geological Survey often does not capture the level of detail needed for local investigations. If gauges are testing water quality for instance, the watersheds below could accurately determine point and non-point sources of pollution.
