These maps depict some results from land suitability analysis using ArcGIS spatial analyst and model builder. The advantage of model builder for suitability analysis is efficiency in changing criteria weights and inputs as part of planner interaction to find optimization results. The study area extends outside the urbanized area in Dallas/Fort Worth into other parts of the Metropolitan Planning Area projected to significantly grow in the next 20 years.
