This Google Earth map contains Google Sketchup 3d warehouse models. Google Sketchup is a 3d modeling program that can be integrated in Google Earth and ArcScene. The final product in Google and ArcScene can be a still shot exhibited here or an animated video for urban planning and other applications. For instance, I assisted other LOPEZGARCIA Group staff in developing an animated ArcScene model of a future transit line for public outreach. In the animated video, the light rail went from an existing station to a proposed station. Features with height values were created in ArcGIS and unique features such as a clock tower were created in Google Sketchup. The video was a great success in helping the public envision transit in their city.
